October marks the beginning of the Q3 reporting season. And what a strange season it has been so far. The earnings looks reasonable, but at the same time the market volatility is high. But the dividend stream is more stable, with October ending up to be my third best month so far this year.
A majority of my holdings pay out dividends on a quarterly or semi-annual basis. And those who pay out semi-annually usually pay out the second dividend during the months of October and November. So these two months usually ends up as one of the best throughout the year.
For October I received dividends from a total of 7 stocks. But since then I've actually sold three of them. It will for sure have an impact on my future dividend stream, but the risk level of my portfolio is now adjusted for a more turbulent time.
Dividends received this month:
A YoY growth of 60.19% is just massive. And in dollar terms I'm also very pleased. $527.15 is the third best so far this year, which I did not anticipate and the beginning of 2018. I'm glad to see some new names on the list as well, with the notable ASC which changed to a semi-annually dividend policy this year.
Transactions this month:
I've had some trouble finding the right bargains lately, but went for the jewellery maker Pandora and effectively reduced my cost price. Besides that I've added my usual $350 to my index portfolio.
That's it for October then. Hope you all had a great month!
