Yahoo has a great technology called Yahoo! Query Language (abbr. YQL) which enables you to structure dynamic data from websites and perform queries on that data just as you would within a database. In this post I will illustrate how I use YQL to display stock quotes on this blog.
I currently have a total of 19 stocks in my portfolio, and during November a stunning 12 of them paid out dividends. No wonder November is by far my best month this year, beating my previous record with nearly 100%!
Last Friday one of my positions dropped 23% on one day. The stock in question is the REIT CBL, owner of several malls in the US. The decline was a real wake up call for me, and moving forward I must be more selective of my purchases as my appetite for risk has changed.
Another month has passed, and the dividends keep coming. I did not expect October to be a particular good month, but the fact states that this has been the best month so far this year, with over $300 received.
